Root Touch-Up
Fresh color applied to your regrowth only, keeping your existing color even from root to end.
A root touch-up colors the new growth at your scalp and stops there. Keeping the color off lengths that are already colored is what prevents the banding and the progressively darker, heavier ends that come from repeatedly recoloring the same hair.
It is the most common maintenance appointment on the menu, and the one that keeps a bigger color service looking like it was done recently.
A root touch-up is deliberately narrow work: color is placed on the new growth only, so the lengths are not repeatedly re-colored and left flat or over-processed. Keeping that line invisible is what the appointment is really for, and it is why your stylist will ask how long it has been since the last one.
Who this is for
- You already have all-over color and a visible line of regrowth.
- You cover gray and want it back to even.
- Your color itself still looks good - it is only the root area that gives it away.
Want the whole head changed, not just the regrowth? Solid Color All Over.
What the appointment looks like
A look at your regrowth against your existing color, and your color history.
Application to the new growth only, sectioned so the line is not visible afterwards.
Processing, then the bowl - with a toner or gloss added if the ends have shifted.
Pricing and appointment length are set by each stylist individually and confirmed with you directly at booking.
How to prepare, and what comes after
- Come with hair that has not been washed the same morning; scalp comfort is better with a day of natural oil.
- Tell your stylist about any box color or home root spray - it genuinely changes the formula.
- Use color-safe shampoo and conditioner at home to hold the result.
How oftenHow often depends on how fast your hair grows and how much contrast there is between your color and your natural base - high contrast shows sooner.

Questions about this service
Yes - covering gray at the regrowth is one of the most common reasons guests book this. If you would rather soften gray than cover it, ask your stylist about blending instead.
Only if they need it. Where the ends have faded, a gloss or toner is usually the right addition rather than recoloring the whole length.
